Caught in the Carousel has done a nice feature on me, including a review of The Felt City. Check it out!

Friday, January 18, 2008 ///

The Felt City has been reviewed by Daniel over at the tinyblog. Thanks for a positive first review!

Also, I will be participating again in the RPM Challenge this year but this time I'm collaborating with Jon Banfill, a friend living in China for the month of February. Together we will make a long-distance album under the name Atlasov Island. Provided everything turns out well, the multimedia album will be released online.

Lastly, The Felt City is now available at the iTunes music store.

Winter begins tonight at 10:08pm PST. The beginning of winter marks the relaunch of this website and this first, three-tiered news item.

First things first: The Felt City has been out for over a month and "G.P.S. Kids" has already been played on KEXP, becoming the first Prkr song to be played on the radio.

Secondly, an early Christmas present for you: U.S.A. Plane, an exclusive free MP3 download of a Felt City b-side.

Thirdly and lastly: A new album is underway but it's going to take longer than a month to make.

Happy Holidays!

OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE: NOVEMBER 13

Monday, September 17, 2007 ///

Apologies for the delay in getting the album out. Good news: The Felt City should be available in October online and in local Seattle record shops!

P.S. The rough draft of the album is finally available to listen to at RPM Headquarters.

More to come...

The Felt City will be released this August. A rough version, recorded and mixed in 28 days, was already submitted to RPM but the final release has taken several months to properly complete. TFC is currently being mastered by Carl Saff in Chicago and a beautiful album package is being prepared. Info on when and where TFC will be available is forthcoming. Thank you for your patience.

Friday, March 2, 2007 ///

I have just finished a new Prkr album called The Felt City. It was created for the 2007 RPM Challenge, which dares any willing person, "musician" or not, to create an original album during the month of February. The process must begin no earlier than Feb 1st and the finished album has to be sent postmarked no later than noon on March 1st. I am happy to report that I was excited and inspired by the RPM Challenge and that I was able to meet it. I mailed off a single copy of The Felt City on Feb 28th.

I decided early on that if what I created was good enough I would subsequently release it as a serious Prkr album and that is what I am currently thinking about. I am pretty amazed with what I was able to accomplish in 28 days. I might just be happier with this album than anything I've done in the past. So, yes, it will be soon be released as the third proper Prkr album. I am not sure in what quantity, but contrary to my brief digital-download-only idea on this website I will be releasing this album as a physical entity when it's ready.

Sometime before March 30th you will be able to listen to The Felt City on the RPM website. What I sent in (and what they will be uploading into their jukebox) is a completely finished version of the album but it is probably not the one I will be releasing later. It needs to be mixed using proper monitoring and possibly mastered by someone other than me for once. I will keep you all updated as events unfold.
